Talking Tech Keynote: When GDPR meets IT

By Drew Morley

Delivering industry-leading insight from keynote speakers is something Talking Tech will aim to do in every instalment.

From our registration period, it was evident that attendees were keen to hear about the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). With this in mind, it was our aim to deliver a high calibre speaker with a wealth of knowledge on the topic.

Our first ever Talking Tech speaker

Damian Kinney is an experienced security professional with more than 15 years’ experience at BT. He has worked in security information assurance, security risk management, internal auditing and team leadership.

Damian is currently BT’s Head of Security for UK Security Professional Services, where he is responsible for formulating and setting the strategy directly for the UK BT Security consultancy products, PCI compliance, ISO 27001 standard and GDPR.

As our first ever speaker, Damian will be delivering on the topic of When GDPR meets IT: The necessary capabilities and controls to protect personal data.

An overall picture of GDPR will be in discussion, as well as personal data storage, access, breaches and reporting such breaches. He will be available as part of an audience Q&A directly after his talk.

Registration for Talking Tech is now full. However, if you wish to be added to the waiting list you can submit your details here.
