NEWS: Custodian maintains Cyber Essentials Plus certification.

By Nadene Facey

With cyberattacks forever on the rise cybersecurity awareness is vital. We are pleased to confirm that following our yearly assessment, we have successfully retained our Cyber Essentials Plus certification.

What does Cyber Essentials Plus certification cover?

Cyber Essentials Plus provides a more advanced level of assurance. It includes a technical audit of the systems that are in scope for Cyber Essentials. Organisations applying for Cyber Essentials Plus must also pass an on-site assessment and a vulnerability scan of internal and external facing systems.

What does Cyber Essentials mean for Custodian?

We are pleased to maintain our Cyber Essentials plus certification so that we can demonstrate our continued commitment to cybersecurity.  This gives us peace of mind that our security controls are effective in protecting our business from cyberattacks. We hope that this gives our customers peace of mind too.

By retaining the certification, Custodian is also able to continue working with our public sector clients. As of October 2014, it became a government requirement that suppliers bidding on contracts that involve handling sensitive and personal data must be certified via the Cyber Essentials scheme.

“Cyber Essentials is a great framework to demonstrate our organisation’s approach to security. For us this isn’t just a tick box exercise. We use Cyber Essentials Plus and the ISO27001 ISMS framework and policies to ensure that we are doing all that we can to protect our sensitive and businesses critical data. This in turn protects our customers and is a key component in retaining our 100% uptime record,”

Sam Clarke, Head of Compliance, Custodian Data Centres.
