Buying extra Racks to get more power is a thing of the past, we can offer almost unlimited power availability with 64 Amps being presented at each rack foot print as standard. Our infrastructure utilises switchable diverse grid feeds via three private substations.When is dual feed power not dual feed power?
Unlike Custodian, most data centre dual feed racks are fed from the same uninterruptable power supply (UPS).
Here, we supply each rack with two separate 32amp rated feeds which come via two independent distribution and two independent UPS systems. Each UPS system operates independently and is only allowed to reach less than half load. It is capable of maintaining it’s respective zone entirely should another UPS fail and the load transfer.
Surprisingly many data centres that offer dual feed racks run them back to the same UPS system, or synchronised pair.
We have totally separate paths all the way back our three on-site transformers and three grid supplies. Each of our UPS systems has it’s own independent ATS transfer gear as well, so that should an ATS fail during a load transfer it will only affect a single UPS system.
Our generators have enough fuel on site to run for several days, rather than hours. Priority re-fuelling contracts are in place to ensure rapid response to longer term generator requirements, although in the event of as long term outage we can transfer to one of our alternative grid feeds.- True 2N UPS dual path resilience, 2N+1 is available
